COVID - 19 and in-person field days

  • KBFA is following Health Canada and Worksafe BC recommendations for COVID-19. 

  • If non-essential travel restrictions are brought back, the field days will be postponed. 

  • All activities are hosted outside in a spacious setting.

  • STAY HOME if you don't feel well. 

Riparian Area and Streambank Restoration 

 

Grand Forks: Tuesday, October 13, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

 

About: Learn what works for stream bank stabilization and bio-engineering for the soils and climate in the Grand Forks region from local restoration specialists Jenny Coleshill and Barb Stewart.

Participants will view two restoration sites and discuss practical considerations for plant varieties, cost, maintenance and livestock management.

This field day is relevant to landowners, ranchers and farmers who want to learn key restoration design strategies and how to protect streambanks and riparian areas from erosion and livestock impacts.

Please dress for the weather with appropriate footwear. Snacks and refreshments will NOT be provided due to COVID-19. 

Location: City Park, 7217 4th St, Grand Forks (1:00 pm sharp!)  We will walk to the first site near City Park. Second location is behind the Old Flour Mill (we will drive in a convoy to the second site).
